It has been another busy week in Year 6.
In maths we have been looking at calculations using BIDMAS; in English we have been writing bravery award speeches using formal language; in science children have been measuring shadows and investigating the changes as an object moves further from the light source. We also visited Crucial Crewe (see gallery items) and completed our penultimate swimming lesson.
Next week is set to be just as busy. We will be finishing our maths, English and science units and preparing for our class assembly on Friday at 2:55pm. Children should have a note in their planner about costume. Most need a coat and winter hat and some also need pajamas.
Our last swimming session is on Wednesday and will focus on life saving. Children have been asked to bring pajamas with long trousers (jogging bottoms and t-shirt could be used instead).
There will be an exhibition of homework projects on display in the hall on Thursday evening. Anyone who has completed additional projects should bring them in by Wednesday to enable us to organise them. Parents are welcome to come and see the work after school or when you arrive for your consultation appointment.
Friday is also pumpkin heroes day and children wishing to take part have been asked to bring a carved pumpkin in on Friday. Carved images should reflect a celebration of light rather than spooky faces.
I am looking forward to seeing you all for parents consultations and sharing the children's work.
