This week began with some forest school art. Both in Pensarn and in school sessions, we have been looking at the artwork of Andy Goldsworthy. His work can be beautifully adapted for an outside learning experience for pupils as it uses only natural materials, harnessing their properties of colour, size and texture. As you can see, Year 6's work was very successful and imaginative.
In English this week, we are drawing to a close on our Wild West stories. We have been practising our dialogue writing skills and role playing plotting to rustle cattle or rob a bank in the style of Butch Cassidy or Billy the Kid. This has produced some exciting writing and we look forward to reading those over the weekend.
In Science, Mr Cotton continued the children's investigations into circuits, this week looking at conductors and insulators. In another foundation subject, RE, we began our research into Hinduism, looking at the three main Gods, Brahma, Vishnu and Shiva.
Our Matilda rehearsals are coming on well. We have asked that the children know all their lines by Wednesday. Do let us know if you have any problems with costume.
Next week is Sports Week so children are to wear PE kit all week. Good luck to Year 6 who take on the staff at rounders on Monday. Mrs Tice has assured them they don't stand a chance of winning and she is sure they will be magnanimous in defeat!
We hope you have a lovely weekend.
