We have had another busy week in Y6 including a trip to see an amazing performance of Joseph and our first class service in church.
I know many of the children have already started, or are keen to try one of the optional homework tasks. It has been lovely to have the children proudly telling me that they have read war poetry, written diaries or designed their own posters.
For those of you looking for a day out, there are many to choose from. However, Powis Castle in Welshpool has a wartime exhibition detailing the lives of girls evacuated to the castle during WW2. It is a 90 minute drive, but has plenty to do when you get there and enough steps to wear out even the most energetic children. If you do intend to visit, please check the website for exhibition dates etc. I would also be very keen to hear of other places you have discovered.
We have a very active week ahead as swimming resumes on Wednesday afternoon, bike ability sessions are on Wednesday and Thursday (you are welcome to drop bikes off any day this week as they will be brought in and locked away at night). For bike ability, children will need trousers / leggings and a waterproof coat. However, they should come to school in uniform as their session will only take place for half the day (morning or afternoon as the class will be taken in two groups).
We will finish our week with our Harvest Service on Friday afternoon. I hope to see you there.
