STEM week

Date: 12th Jul 2024 @ 4:24pm

Despite everything else that has happened on this extremely busy week at Brereton, we held our annual celebration of STEM. Firstly, an enormous thank you to all the parents who gave up their time to come into school and deliver some fascinating and engaging lessons to children across the school around vetenary medicine and farming, food production, engineering, and gender equalities in STEM careers.

Year 6 completed their primary science education with an engineering project on developing and building a vaccum 'cleaner' using an empty plastic bottle and some simple electrical components.

Year 1 also had a wonderful visit to the Catalyst musuem in Runcorn - more information can be found on the Year 1 blog.

As science lead, I am constantly looking for new ideas to inspire and engage the children both in the curriculum and externally. If you have any feedback (positive or otherwise) I am always open to hearing it. It is my intention to restart the Science Selfie competition and after-school science clubs next year, so do look out for messages in the school newsletter, or on School Spider.
