Refugee from Syria

Today we were fortunate to have Mo, a refugee from Syria, come to school to talk about his experiences.

We found out that there are 7million refugees outside Syria. 17,500 have settled in the UK after being given asylum. This compared with 1 million in Germany and many more in other countries such as Turkey.

Mo talked to the children about his 40 day perilous journey to Britain and showed a video showing Syria before the war began in 2011 and today.

Teachers and children were incredibly moved by his story and are extremely grateful to him for giving up his time to help us to truly understand what it means to be a refugee.
