Reception’s blog W.b 26th November 2018

Date: 29th Nov 2018 @ 3:59pm

What an extremely busy week it has been here in Reception!

We started this week with a maths focus in mind. We want the children to be completely secure when using Numicon so we’ve spent our sessions counting, recognising and familiarising ourselves with the colours and patterns that each Numicon has. They’ve been challenged to work independently and have started looking at number bonds to ten.

We’ve made use of our Autumn treasure by using the conkers to create a marble painting on black paper.

As it’s the Christmas fair, we’ve spent our Thursday afternoon preparing for the Reception stall. The children have weighed, measured, mixed and combined ingredients to make the most delicious brownies you could wish for.

We’ve also spent a lot of our week rehearsing for our nativity making sure that we’re prepped and ready for the big day next week. There are still a few lines that need polishing so please use any spare time to revisit and practice with them.

We look forward to seeing many of you tonight - you’ll find us in the grotto!

Have a lovely weekend,

Miss Wellings and Miss Sherliker
