Reception's Blog - Week Beginning Monday 24th September 3rd December
Date: 6th Dec 2018 @ 4:05pm
What a wonderful week.
I’m sure you’ll agree the children have worked incredibly hard on their performance. I hope you enjoyed it as much as we did this morning. The children should all feel incredibly proud of themselves, we are absolutely thrilled with the performance that they pulled off. It goes without saying that the children have put in many hours of practise and this would not be at all possible without all your help at home; we thank you very much for this.
The festivities have continued back in the classroom as we have had a letter writing table, present wrapping station and Santa’s, very own, workshop. The children have thoroughly enjoyed spending the time doing these activities. We will look at these more detail next week as well as exploring how to make reindeer food.
This week we have started our classroom advent calendar. We have explored the story of advent and looked into why we have it. A child is chosen at the end of each day to open up the day’s advent and they receive a yummy treat and a Christmas book which is theirs to keep and take home.
We've been lucky enough to have Mrs McLean in our classroom this afternoon and we've had a wonderful time learning all about "The Nutcracker". We read the story, practised the dance, acted out each character and made dancing puppets. It's been a fantastic afternoon!
We haven’t set any homework or given new HFWs for this week as want the children to fully relax this weekend. We look forward to seeing you on Monday.
A little reminder that next Wednesday 12th, we will be going on a whole school trip to the New Vic theatre to watch “Wind in the Willows”. This means that school pick up time will be different to normal. The children will all still be in their classroom ready to be collected from Reception’s gate but we are expected to arrive back to school at 5pm.
Miss Wellings and Miss Sherliker.
