Reception's Blog - Week Beginning Monday 22nd June

Goodness me, it's been a scorcher of a week filled with fun and laughter. We can't believe how quickly it's flown by.

In maths this week, we continued our work on patterns. The children were able to complete a pattern, recognise mistakes in a pattern and were also challenged to create pattern using our classroom resources. Fantastic work shown by all!

Continuing on from our story, 'Something Else', we explored the different emotions that he experiences throughout and were asked to write these emotions down using our phonics knowledge. We used little pebbles to help create these different emotions on our tables to see if the children could correctly identify the facial expression.

We've used our topic time to learn even more incredible things about the honey bee. As well as creating bee homes in the woods, our favourite part has to be getting to make and taste honey sandwiches. They were delicious albeit very, very sticky!

We've finished off our busy week with a mini sports day in which each bubble took part in different activities. We used balancing bean bags, hoops and balls to show the skills we've learnt over the course of the year.

Looking ahead to next week, the bubbles with remain the same for one more week and then the children will swap classrooms commencing Monday 29th June. This gives everyone the chance to meet Mrs Pulle and have a little time in what will be their new classroom. Arrival and pick up times with remain the same however, the children who are currently in the Reception classroom, will need to be dropped off and collect at the KS1 doors around the corner.
