Reception's Blog - Week Beginning Monday 1st October
Date: 5th Oct 2018 @ 3:44pm
What a wonderful week we’ve had in Reception!
In literacy we have compiled a set of instructions for the big, bad wolf so he’s able to make the BEST jam sandwiches when his friends come to visit. We used our existing phonics knowledge to help us identify the initial and final sounds in certain words. Everyone tried so hard with this task and a couple of children even got to take their work to Mrs Mclean.
In maths this week, we have used our numicon to order numbers 1-10. The children are starting to become more familiar with what the colours and shapes represent and it’s reflecting in their work. Today, they have independently sorted the numbers in ascending order and earlier in the week we had a numicon treasure hunt.
Our service on Thursday was FANTASTIC. We are both so proud of the behaviour displayed in church, particularly as it was their first visit. Their performance was amazing and we couldn’t have asked any more from them.
Have a wonderful weekend and please feel free to post your adventures on tapestry. We love seeing what you’ve got up to!
