Reception's Blog - Week Beginning Monday 14th January

Date: 18th Jan 2019 @ 3:33pm

The children have had a very busy week! In Literacy we have continued to learn our story of ‘Star in the Jar’. Writing sentences using capital letters and full stops has been our focus and the children have risen to the challenge tremendously. This story has sparked their imagination for the treasure and treasure boxes that they would like to make so we look forward to including these in their stories next week.

Over the course of this week we have been finding number sentences that have had numbers missing. We have worked hard to count to 10, find answers to sums and even find missing numbers to make a number bond to 10. If they would like to carry on doing maths work with them at home, please follow the link below:

In PE this week we have been practising our ball and communication skills by starting some netball skills. The children worked well in partners to pass, bounce and throw the ball to each other. Please see the pictures attached.

This week we have not added in new words to the children’s word wallets as the children need to become more familiar with the ones they already have. This week please concentrate on ‘the’, ‘they’, ‘your’ and ‘when’.

Don’t forget our Stay and Make session is next Wednesday (23rd) at 9am. We look forward to greeting our visitors.

Have a lovely weekend.
