Another Fun Filled Week...
This week we went on a spectacular safari around the school grounds. We found lots of different animals and Miss Bailey then taught us how to use adjectives to describe them. Later in the week, we used what we had learnt to create persuasive sentences, encouraging others to journey to Africa and experience a safari for themselves. The children used some super openers and added lots of lovely description. Well done everyone!
In Maths we have been pretending to be zoo keepers and we have have been measuring animals. We had to weigh each animal so we knew how much to feed them and we measured each animal to check how big their enclosures needed to be. Why not have a go at weighing and measuring objects at home?
During the afternoons we have had lots of fun discovering which items float in water and which sink. We have also been practising our measuring skills and baking cakes (with the help of Year 6!).
In RE we listened to the story of Zacchaeus and we learnt how Jesus was a friend to everyone. The children acted out the story wonderfully well!
Don't forget class photos are being taken on Monday. Please ensure your child is wearing winter uniform. We also have our trip to Manchester Airport on Wednesday and our 'Hooray! Let's Go on Holiday' Activity Day on Friday. Children will need to wear school uniform on our trip and must bring a waterproof coat with a hood. Pupils can come to school in their holiday clothes on Friday, ready for our activity day, but please dress appropriately as we will be outside.
Sadly, Miss Bailey will finish her placement with us on Friday, though she assures us she will come and visit!
Have a wonderful weekend!
