13 Sleeps Until Santa...
Firstly, I need to begin by saying a MASSIVE well done to all of the children for last Friday’s Nativity. The children have worked incredibly hard over the last few weeks learning songs, lines and actions and they were wonderful even in rehearsals. The video can be found on our Reception Class Page (Thank you Mrs Sant and Mrs Taylor!) so please send a link to Grandparents, relatives and friends who were not able to attend and spread some Christmas cheer.
This week we have started Christmas crafts on a somewhat industrial scale (Mrs Gleave is being very organised and keeping multiple tick lists!). We have also started learning our carol ready for end of term service on the 18th December. This service is always fantastic and really gets us in the mood for Christmas. If you would like to walk up with us please let me know. We will be leaving school at approximately 1:30pm.
We have also been helping Santa to pack our presents. Santa asked us to help sort presents depending upon their shape. This would help ensure that no presents fell out of an overloaded sleigh! We had great fun identifying the shapes and then wrapping shapes for others to guess.
Today we have had a lovely day, watching two marvellous performances. This morning we watched Year 1 and Year 2’s Nativity. It was thoroughly entertaining and the parents are in for a real treat next week! I was very proud of them all. This afternoon we enjoyed watching Peter Pan at the Regent. We overcame a few initial nerves quickly and we loved shouting the traditional Panto phases and joining in with the singing and dancing. The children behaved wonderfully, well done guys!
Next week we have lots of exciting things planned. We will be learning about different Christmas traditions around the world. Why not share your Christmas traditions with us on Tapestry?
On Wednesday we will be joining with Years 1 and 2 for our Christmas Party so please come to school in party clothes. Donations of cakes, sweets, crisps and pop would be most welcome. We have some super games planned!
On Thursday children are invited to wear a Christmas jumper and give a donation to Text Santa. This will benefit three wonderful charities: MacMillan Cancer Support, Make a Wish and Save the Children. If you don’t have a Christmas jumper don’t worry, just wear any jumper! Thursday is also Christmas dinner day…yum!
There will be no PE now before the end of term so please don’t return kits. We will aim to send all Christmas items, along with new books and words by Thursday at the latest.
Well done everyone on a fantastic week and don’t worry Christmas is nearly here…
