Another Wonderful Week…
The biggest highlight of our week was, without a doubt, World Book Day. The children looked fantastic (well done parents and grandparents!) and they loved sharing their stories with the older pupils. Staff shared their favourite stories, ‘What the Ladybird Heard’ and ‘Aliens Love Underpants,’ completing a range of activities following each story. I then shared my favourite childhood story ‘Dogger,’ by Shirley Hughes before Robin used the story of ‘Burglar Bill’ to promote our theme of ‘Forgiveness’ in our assembly. Please check out the 'World Book Day' gallery item for photos.
In Maths this week we have been learning how to count in 2s. Why not count pairs of socks or shoes at home? In Literacy we have been looking at the story ‘The Way Back Home’ by our spotlight author Oliver Jeffers. After discussing the feelings of the characters we wrote some wonderful though bubbles, using super sounding out and even capital letters and full stops. I was very proud!
On Wednesday we enjoyed a special visit from two lovely lambs. A big thank you to Mr and Mrs Eaton for letting us meet their new additions.
There will be no homework this weekend as it is a very special weekend for all mummies and we think you deserve this quality time together! Please enjoy your name and we hope you like your cards.
Please check out our calendar items for more information on our ‘Stay and Make’ sessions. Children have all had letters but when changing their books this week I found a few in the reading box so if you require an additional paper copy please just let me know.
Have a lovely weekend!
Miss Goff
