Reception W/B 27th February
Date: 3rd Mar 2017 @ 6:45pm
Welcome Back!
The children were very excited when they arrived on Monday to see two new role play areas: a pirate ship and a castle. They have had lots of fun dressing up and playing together.
On Tuesday we set off on a treasure hunt, solving the clues until we found some very strange items. After looking at these closely we concluded they might belong to a pirate. We then started to learn the story of ‘Captain Yellowbelly.’ We will continue learning the story next week and we can’t wait to share it with you.
In Maths we have been learning about place value. We learnt how to make numbers beyond ten using Numicon. The first digit tells us how many tens we need, whilst the second digit tells us how many ones we need. This is a very valuable skill so if you wish to practise at home there are some games below.

World Book Day was a tremendous success so a big thank you for all your support. The children all looked great. We had lots of fun sharing stories and writing about our character. We also looked at the story ‘A Child of Books’ and we are working with Year 1 and 2 to create a lovely new display for our corridor. We’ll let you know as soon as it has been completed.
Remember, this Monday is an inset day so we will see you back in school on Tuesday 7th. Enjoy the long weekend!
