Reception's Blog Week Beginning Monday 20th September

Date: 27th Sep 2021 @ 8:26am

It would seem Reception have really enjoyed their week this week. We have been able to show Mrs McLean our story of The Little Red Hen, we have learnt actions to the story of We’re Going on a Bear Hunt, sung lots of Harvest songs as well as starting our phonics and maths sessions.

In Phonics, we have been learning the sounds m, a & s. The children have adapted to the format of the phonics sessions well, showing skills of using pencils correctly and sitting properly on seats. Please do ask your child about these sounds at home and hopefully they will be able to tell you the rhymes.

The numbers 1, 2 and 3 have been our focus in maths this week. We started off by learning a song about the numbers before exploring number blocks. The children have been forming these numbers before going on to count them and represent them using multilink.

I have attached two worksheets to this blog post that you may decide to complete with your child over the weekend. They have started to look at these in school so it will be nice for them to share them with you at home.

Next week we have our PE session on Wednesday and then Forest Schools on Friday. Our dress up day is the following week.

I hope you all have a lovely weekend,

Mrs Cassettari
