Week Beginning 19th September 2016

It has been another busy week in Reception.  We have continued our Phonics work and we have learnt the sounds a, i and t, as well as the tricky words come, is and on.  Keep practising these at home.  During the afternoons we have created some lovely paintings of animals from the story.

We have been reading the story ‘What the Ladybird Heard’ by our spotlight author Julia Donaldson.  We had lots of fun acting out the story and interviewing key characters.  Finally, we made our own booklets by sequencing pictures from the story. 

In Maths we have been learning about Numicon.  These are coloured, plastic tiles and each tile represents a number.  We had lots of fun exploring!

During our RE sessions we began thinking about ‘Good News’ and what this might be.  We look forward to hearing any good news your child would like to share with us all.
