Reception W/B 13th March
Date: 17th Mar 2017 @ 9:00pm
Wow! What a Week!
We have had a very busy week and all of the children have worked incredibly hard. They should be very proud of themselves!
In Maths we have been looking at addition and subtraction within the context of money. The children have been choosing items to buy in our pirate shop and adding them together. They have also learnt how to calculate change. Please try to visit the self service check outs at you local supermarket and allow the children to experience this learning within a context.
In Literacy we have been making changes to our 'Captain Yellowbelly' story in order to make up our own stories. We have then been writing these, ensuring we use our phonics sounds and our finger spaces. They look fantastic!
Thank you to everyone for attending parents consultations. It was really lovely to share the children's books with you and discuss progress and interests. Support from home makes a significant difference so thank you for your continued support.
Due to parent consultations we were unable to update word cards but we did add new sounds so please practise these.
Don't forget Monday is Pirate Day so we look forward to seeing you in pirate attire!
Have a lovely weekend!
