This week in literacy we have continued with our independent stories and have been encouraged to write as much as we can; some of us even managed to write two whole pages!

We’ve explored number bonds to 10 in greater depth this week in maths and used numicon and bar modelling to help us. We’re hoping to be able to recall the number bonds off the top of our head and shout them out when Mrs Payne quizzes us on the carpet next week.

On Wednesday afternoon we were all extremely relaxed after a lovely ‘Frozen’ themed yoga session. We were shown how to move and twist our bodies into some tricky positions and learned how to control our breathing. If it’s something you’d like to try at home, search for ‘Cosmic Kids yoga’ on Youtube and there’s a fantastic range of videos to try.

We particularly loved getting messy on Thursday this week when making bird feeders. We investigated what happened when things were heated up and cooled down when manipulating the lard. We created hanging feeders and we’re looking forward to spotting the birds next week when we take part in a bird watch. We weren’t very impressed with the smell of our feeders though so let’s hope that the birds aren’t very fussy!

A polite request that we please refrain from bringing in teddies and large key rings on book bags as these are beginning to cause a bit of an issue and often don’t fit in our school trays. Many thanks.
