Reception Blog Week Beginning Monday 6th September

What a wonderful week we have had in Reception! All the children have settled well and have made some wonderful friends. The week started by getting used to the environment and choosing our own activities, this showed us some of their interests and things they enjoy doing at home.  

We have also been doing all of our baseline activities this week, showing us the numbers, letters and language that the children already know, so that we can plan our work going forwards. They have all done extremely well and have been eager  

Next week we will be looking at our new text, Goldilocks and the Three Bears. We will start by looking at some of the features of the story before linking it to our own lives. We will also be looking at forests, habitats, different types of animals and our families.  

Next week will be our first full week so finishing at 3.05pm. This week is usually the hardest for the children and they become very tired but please be assured that we will be taking the week easy and having time for quiet moments with pillows and cushions if needed.
