Reception Blog - Week beginning Monday 28th January 2019
Date: 1st Feb 2019 @ 4:29pm
What an eventful week it has been in Reception. In literacy we have been writing about our treasure boxes that we made at our stay and make morning last week. The children loved exploring what new language that they could use to describe their chests.
In maths we have been doubling numbers to 10. We used numicon, counters and duplo to understand what doubling numbers means. Some of us even moved on to looking at word problems.
We have had a huge focus on art and craft this week in Reception. Printing stars was our focus on Tuesday and this lead into making stain glass stars using tissue paper on Thursday. We hope you enjoy looking at these through our classroom window.
There are two things that we need to remind you about for next week. On Monday, it is going to be a ‘show and tell’ day so each child is allowed to bring in one item that they would like to share with the class. They will have the opportunity to come up to the front and talk about their item to everyone. On Tuesday, it is Chinese New Year so we will all be taking part in activities based around this. If you would like your child to opt out of these activities please come and see us before Tuesday morning.
As always, we hope you have a lovely weekend and look forward to seeing you on Monday morning.
