Reception Blog - Week beginning 5th November
Date: 9th Nov 2018 @ 3:37pm
What an extremely busy week it has been here in Reception!
We started our week with a remembrance assembly. This sparked our interest and questioning about World War One. As a result we have been designing poppies, creating poppy fields, talking about the soldiers who fought for our country and writing key words. The children have enjoyed exploring this topic and learning our song for church.
On Wednesday, we learned about Diwali and how it is the ‘festival of light’ for Hindus. Designing lanterns, creating candle holders and drawing fireworks were just a few of the things we did. Please see our photos on tapestry to see exactly what we got up to.
In RE this week we have been looking at the story of ‘the lost coin’ and exploring the teachings in the Bible. We have related this to our own school values and thought about how we are all precious to God.
Our homework this week is related to all of these topics, so we hope the children enjoy completing it.
Have a lovely weekend.
