Summer Term Week 1

What a super week we have had!  The children have been very excited about the changes to their classroom and they have settled back into school life brilliantly.

This week we have been learning to tell the story of ‘Goldilocks and the Three Bears.’  We have acted out the story and interviewed the Three Bears.  We also had a visit from Goldilocks herself!   We asked her lots of questions and helped her to write a letter of apology to the Three Bears, explaining her actions.  The children were very helpful, teaching Goldilocks how to use finger spaces and which sounds to use in her words!

In Numeracy we have been learning to count accurately.  We have been identifying numbers and counting out the correct amount of counters.  We have also been predicting how many counters there are before we count and counting in twos and tens.

In Phonics this week we have been looking at the sounds oy (boy) and oi (coin).
