Our first week in Year 3
Date: 8th Sep 2023 @ 7:09pm
We have had a wonderful first week back in Year 3. We have all been getting used to the rules and routines of Year 3 and learning about the expectations now that we are in Key Stage 2. The children have worked very hard and we are very proud of them for all their effort over the past three days.
This week in English, we discovered a mysterious jar full of water and lots of pictures of water from different locations around the world- we considered what our vehicle text ‘The Rhythm of the Rain’ may be about by asking questions.
In Maths we have been recapping place value to 100, before moving on next week to place value of numbers up to 1000!
In PE, we learned how to do a chest and bounce pass, while in Science we were introduced to our new unit about forces, learning about pushes and pulls. In art, we have started some fantastic display work with Mrs Taylor!
On Monday, homework will start- there will be a Maths and a SPAG task set, due in the following Monday. Children will also have some spellings in their planner to learn for an informal test on Friday.
Have a lovely weekend,
Mr McAulay
