Good afternoon everyone!
So where has September gone?! It's hard to believe that we are already in a new month and the term is well under way. During the past couple of weeks the class have been working really hard in all their subjects (as you would hope!) but I thought I would tell you a little more about our recent topic lessons.
As you know, this term we are looking at prehistoric man and woman and their evolution from the Stone Age, through the Bronze Age and into the Iron Age. Last week we investigated the types of homes that they built through the three periods of Stone Age times and discovered that over time (in fact over many thousand years) they used more and more of the natural resources around them. Caves could be quite draughty after all! I'm sure all the children could tell you what materials they used, and especially what they used to insulate the inside of timber houses...
Anyhow, I raise this particularly as next week we will be heading on our school trip to Delamere Forest which I am really excited about. I haven't gone into very much detail with the class as there are elements that I would like to be a surprise, but safe to say that I am confident it will bring to life much of what we have learned in topic so far this term.
I hope everyone has a great week!
