Friday 3rd May
Date: 3rd May 2024 @ 4:05pm
We have all really enjoyed ourselves this week and have been very busy finishing off as much as we can before our SATs tests.
We are still writing songs with Mrs Tice in music and have finally finished them; we look forward to sharing these next week. We have also been using PowerPoint in computing with her and creating presentations to share information. Science was good this week as we got to go outside and do some exercises to test our pulse. We did some more exercise today in PE as Mr McAuley taught us some gymnastics.
Like last week, we have been busy finishing off the final maths units and have now learnt everything we need to know on angles and circles. We have been using protractors and rulers to draw accurately and have been learning how to calculate the angles in any polygon – did you know you can make triangles inside the shape to do this?
In English, we have all written an information text on wolves to share all the amazing facts we have learnt about them. We have added pictures and diagrams and they all look like they are straight out of a text book, well done Year 6! We have also managed to find a little bit of time to do some creative writing (our favourite thing) and have been writing stories. There has been a combination of adventure, horror and stories about the future; the enthusiasm towards writing has been fantastic to see.
Like last week, homework has been set on Wednesday to bring in on Wednesday. If anyone wants to do extra pages as part of some revision they are more than welcome to. We also have some revision documents on the year 6 page and there are some excellent revision games on the cbbc website which we have looked at this week.
Finally, we would like to say a huge well done and congratulations to Mrs McLean on her new role. Everyone at Brereton will miss her so much but we know she can help so many other children in the other CDAT schools. We’ll work extra hard to make sure our summer show, her last one, will be the best one ever now!
Wishing you all a wonderful weekend and bank holiday,
Mrs Pirie, Imogen, Jessica and Rebecca
