Computing Week!
Date: 25th May 2022 @ 10:26am
This half term's computing has challenged the various skills the children have acquired over the years. We have researched the history of key computers, created an illustrated word document showing the timeline of this history, listened to The Archers, accessed the bbc sound archive, downloaded files and then created and edited our own Dangermouse radio play.
They have had great fun layering different sounds they needed to create a scene from Season 2 Episode 56 of Dangermouse which you can find online if you would like. Over the city sounds, boings, stampeeding ponies and zapping noises, the children narrated and performed the script.
The script is available on : http://downloads.bbc.co.uk/writersroom/scripts/Danger-Mouse-S2-Ep56-Mark-Huckerby-Nick-Ostler-Dark-Dawn.pdf . The sounds can be downloaded then imported into www.soundtrap.com. It is easy to create a free 30-day login and would be a great project to have over the half term.
We have also seen the return of Forest School! There is a new sand pit in which the children spent quite a while digging for treasure and Mr Simmons reminded us all of the Fire Code before we tucked into toasted marshmallows.
Today, we brought our Platinum Jubilee celebrations to a crescendo! After rehearsals with Multiflex on Wednesday, Year 6 sizzled and shone in their performance of 'Run The World' and 'Hotline Call'. The whole school also took part in singing both verses of the national anthem for a national video which we will show on our Twitter feed.
