Spelling rules
This week we have focused on homophones and near homophones, which are words that sound the same but have a different spelling and meaning e.g. there, their and they’re.
Maths and English
Our focus in Maths was measuring length in cm and m, as well as comparing and ordering it. We have had a super, practical week measuring lots of objects around the school as well as lots of investigating. For example, we found out that the world record triple jumper wouldn’t have enough room to do the triple jump in our school hall!
RE, Science and foundation subjects
In RE we started the new unit of salvation, which is all about being found or rescued by God. We acted out the parable of the lost coin and thought about its meaning.
In Science, we looked at living things, things that were once alive and things that have never been alive, investigating around the school grounds.
Mrs Taylor enjoyed teaching the children music and in PE the children played dodgeball!
I sent out a note regarding a SATS meeting on Thursday 14th March at 6pm. Please attend this if you would like to find out more about the upcoming KS1 assessments.
I also sent out a letter about Stay and Make- this will be on Monday 1st April and details can be found in the letter about the session.
If you have any questions, please get in touch.
