Phonics Screening
Attached below is a copy of the phonics screening PowerPoint. We would like to reiterate that this is a statutory requirement and not a challenge that we put in place for the children. It is a strange concept as the children are asked to read alien words, using their phonetical understanding to break down nonsense words. This can cause confusion for the children who are reading fluently, so this can affect their result. Over the next few weeks we will be sending home more materials to support them with this.
