Year 5 Volume

Next week Year 5 will be focusing on volume. We will be estimating and finding the capacity of household containers, learning how to calculate the volume of solid objects and solving word problems and investigations based on area and volume.
To prepare for this work, children could take a look at any containers at home. i.e. What is the capacity of the milk bottle, orange juice, yogurt pot etc.
I have also attached one of the powerpoint presentations we will be using this week which shows methods and sample questions.
