Year 4 WC 18.4.16

I hope the children are now all well rested and recovered after our fantastic residential in York. The children learnt so much and had a brilliant time.

This week is our class assembly so we've been practising hard to show you just a snippet of everything we learnt in York about the Vikings. Due to it being short notice I have not asked the children to bring costumes. However, they can bring in non uniform in a bag to wear for the assembly. Please can this be trousers and a neutral/dark jumper or long sleeved plain top. Vikings wore leather sandals or boots so these would be preferable, but don't worry if you don't have these.

In maths this week we are focusing on geometry so we have looked at quadrilaterals and different types of triangles and their properties. Next we are moving on to symmetry, completing symmetrical patterns.

In English we have started our new text, Flotsam, which has already hooked them and really enthused them into coming up with some imaginative story ideas!
