Year 4 class blog w/b 16.9.19

Date: 22nd Sep 2019 @ 3:01pm

We have had a fantastic fortnight in school. We have been looking at words like measure and treasure in spellings, as well as prefixes.

In Maths this week we have been focusing on place value using thousands, hundreds, tens and ones; we have also been looking at Roman numerals to 100.

In English we have been following the journey of Shackleton and his crew, writing a variety of short burst pieces such as diaries, letters and setting descriptions. In the future, we will be writing a newspaper report.

In topic, we have been writing non chronological reports and sketching animals that we might see in the Arctic and Antarctic.

In PE we have been working on passing in netball, while in RE we have been answering questions about our good news story from the Bible.

We have had two very exciting trips this week- one to see Joseph and the other to Clonter! Music lessons start again on Monday; letters will go out about instruments. Once this is signed and sent back, children can take the instruments home to practise.

If you have any questions, please ask.
