Year 3 WC 12th March 2018

Date: 17th Mar 2018 @ 10:26pm

We've had a super busy week in Year 3. On Monday we had our whole school RE day about the resurrection. In our class we explored the stories of how Jesus rescued people. We discussed what happens on Maundy Thursday and Good Friday and considered the question, 'Why is Good Friday a 'good' day?'.

On Tuesday, it was our trip to the Dewa Roman Experience. We had a fantastic day! The highlight for me, as always, was the march through the city. We learnt all about how Roman soldiers protected themselves in battle by creating a testudo with their shields. The children were also excited about seeing the amphitheatre and learning that much of the original stone is now used in the cathedral.

In maths this week we have been learning about perimeter. We walked the perimeter of the playground, and then calculated the perimeter of different shapes in class.

Next week it is our Easter service on Friday afternoon and our class assembly is on the last day of term at 9:15am. We  hope that you are able to come and see the wonderful work we have been doing in Year 3.
