Year 3 WC 12th February 2018

Date: 17th Feb 2018 @ 2:25pm

We've had a very busy end to the half term this week and the children have worked incredibly hard.

In maths we have been working on calculating change. This involved using our number bonds to 100 to help us to work out change from £1, £2, £5 and £10. However, as we know, when we go shopping, we don't often buy just one thing, so before working out change we need to find the total first. The children applied their addition and subtraction skills that they learnt in the autumn term to solve tricky money problems. After half term, we'll be moving on to statistics.

In English, we used what we learnt about Roman gladiators last week to write non-chrobological reports. They produced some fantastic writing and some children used Microsoft Publisher to present their work.

On Wednesday, the children enjoyed another taster session of judo. After half term, we will be having some street dance taster sessions. More details will be sent out soon.

In RE, we have been exploring how Jesus was betrayed by Judas and Peter. After acting out the story, we thought about why they chose to betray Him and the reasons why Jesus forgave them. We also considered what we, as Christians, could learn from this.

I hope you all have a wonderful half term and the children have a well-deserved rest. The next half term is going to be very busy with our trip to the Roman Dewa Experience, Fair Trade fortnight, a Resurrection Day and the Easter Service!
