Year 3 Review The Hodgeheg by Dick King Smith

Date: 19th Feb 2018 @ 1:32pm

In guided reading, we have been reading The Hodgeheg by Dick King Smith, our spotlight author for this term. The children have written some book reviews and I would have really liked to publish them for real on Amazon. As I'm only allowed to review something once on Amazon, I thought it would be lovely for the children to see their reviews published here instead. If you have an Amazon account, you could copy and paste your child's review and show them that their writing is there on their website for the whole world to see! Here are some of the finished ones:

The Hodgeheg is a classic by the number one animal bestselling author Dick King Smith

This wonderful book is about a young, bright hedeghog named Victor Maximilian St George who is determined to find a way for all hedeghogs to cross the road safely to go to every hedgehog's dream...the park. On his way, Max gets a bump on the head which muddles his words. I loved the way Dick King Smith made it hilarius but upsetting at times. In conclusion this is a charming book written for boys and girls aged 4-11.

The Hodegheg is an amazing book by the bestselling author Dick King Smith.

The story is about a curious hedgehog who wants to be the first to find a way to cross the road safely. In the beginning, there is one sad bit where Max's aunt dies but the rest is fantastic. In the second half, he meets a lady with a magic wand. Could this be the answer to his question?

I liked this book because it made me never want to stop reading. I give it 5 stars.

The Hodegheg is a fabulous book written by the author Dick King Smith.

This story is about a young hedeghog called Max. Max tries to get across the road, but he got a few bumps on the head. He gets muddled up with his words. When Max was walking one day, he spotted a tall lady holding a magic wand. Was this the person who would help Max achieve his dream?

I like this story because Max is like a superhero. This book is for primary pupils generally who love animals stories.

I give this 3.5 stars out of 5.

The Hodegheg is a fantastic story for children under fifteen years old by the famous author, Dick King Smith.

The story is about a young hedgehog called Max who tries to cross the road but gets hit by someone on a bike. Until...he finds a woman with a magic wand who helps him.

I liked the way that Max would never give up on his dreams. Additionally, the other hedeghogs woudn't either.
