Year 3 blog w.b 7th February

We have had a fantastic couple of weeks in Year 3, finishing with a ‘dress to express day’ full of Forest School fun and gymnastics!

Maths

Over the past fortnight we have been learning about money, before moving onto looking at statistics like pictograms.

English

We have just finished writing our lost narrative stories! They were fantastic to read. Following this, a witch appeared in our forest area and the children have now been tasked with writing a newspaper article about this sighting and the disappearance of two children, who we think may be Hansel and Gretel.

Other areas of the curriculum

This week in Science, we have been watching how water travels through a plant, using water and blue food dye! The results were amazing! After this we dissected plants to look at the reproductive parts!

In Geography we have loved finding out about capital cities and comparing London to Paris!

In Re we have been looking at the Parable of the Yeast, while in art we have been illustrating in the style of Georgia O’Keefe.
