Year 2 - Week beginning 4th June

Date: 8th Jun 2018 @ 10:12pm

Welcome back to the second half of the summer term. What an eventful and exciting week we have had!

In literacy, we have been looking at our new text which is called ‘Adventures to Sandy Cove’. This is a warning text and over the next few weeks we will be innovating and inventing our own stories based on this. It’s going to be an exciting time as the children have already become completely engaged with the content.

In maths, we have been working on our multiplication skills. The week began by building up our fluency skills and looking at arrays. Then for the remainder of the week we have built on answering two-step word problems and this has helped us all feel a little more confident.

In guided reading, we have been looking the ‘Rainbow Fish’ and to work alongside this we have been making our own rainbow fish in our topic lesson. It was exciting to be able to work with clay and add in a variety of sequins to represent scales.

In PE we have continued with our dance lessons and team skills as well as practicing athletics.

There are no specific dates to remember for next week, but can we send a gentle reminder about water bottles and PE kits always being in school.

Enjoy a wonderful, sunny weekend and we look forward to seeing you on Monday.
