Week beginning 27.2.17

Date: 5th Mar 2017 @ 11:28am

What a wonderful week we have had in year 2! We had a fantastic time at Beeston. If you haven't done so already, please have a look on our gallery items at the photos from day one and day two of the trip. Activities included den building and we had some very imaginative dens, ranging from medieval castles to modern dens with video games, drums and lovely green carpets! The children also put up and had a lie down in a hammock, sang songs around a campfire and toasted marshmellows, played lots of team- building problem solving games, sketched trees and had a go at orienteering. It is fair to say that both the children and the members of staff had a super time! I am sure you have all heard lots already, but just to remind you that our class assembly will be on Friday. The children have been sent the script to learn as their English homework and I am sure that you will enjoy joining us to hear all about our trip to Beeston. (Maths homework and spellings will continue this week as normal.)

On Thursday we enjoyed a shared read with older and younger children in the morning and enjoyed lots of arty activities related to a text, which will help to contribute towards a key stage display in the corridor.

In English this week we have been writing all about our trip to Beeston in the form of a recount.

In maths the children have been looking at coordinates, which linked with our orienteering activity at Beeston and we have been solving sequencing patterns and puzzles.

In topic on Friday, we wrote all about our favourite thing about Beeston.

If you have any queries please get in touch.
