Week beginning 14.11.16

Date: 19th Nov 2016 @ 3:34pm

We have had another exciting week in year 2. Congratulations to our star speller Beth. This week we looked at singular and plural words that end in y, such as cry and cries. The y changes to and I before we add the es. Thank you for your help this week. We had some fantastic results this week.

We had a fantastic trip on Thursday to Nantwich Museum. This week in literacy we started to learn about the Great Fire of London, so by Thursday the children's knowledge was excellent and they were able to use this to compare the fire in London to the Great Fire of Nantwich! Remember... Nicholas Brown burned down the town! Ask your child about some of the interesting facts and activities that we got up to! We had a super time.

In maths this week we have been gathering statistics and then using this data to make our own pictograms and bar charts. Thank you again for your help with homework this week.

In PE this week we started to play hockey, focussing on dribbling skills!

Next week we will begin to practise for our nativity. We will hopefully be casting on Monday afternoon and will try to get letters for costumes e.t.c. out ASAP. Unfortunately Mrs Pulle is feeling poorly and will not be teaching next Monday and Tuesday, so we wish her a speedy recovery. Therefore, I will be teaching all week in year 2, alongside our student teachers Miss Peak and Mr Higginson.

If you have any questions please get in touch.
