Year 4 WC 4th May 2016

Date: 29th Apr 2016 @ 3:30pm

This week in maths we have doing lots of work on multiplication, including mental methods and formal written methods. The children found this quite tricky when we did this last term, but this week they have really impressed me with how they have tackled it and have a much better understanding of it this time. Next week I want to ensure that they have mastered written methods of multiplication before moving onto written methods of division.

In English we have been working on inferring meaning from pictures and imagining conversations between the characters in those images, leading to us working on punctuating dialogue and being creative in some story writing. Next week we'll be writing sequels to the story.

We have used a great app this week on the Ipads called Book Creator which enables the children to make an e-book containing pictures, text, video and sound. They have been really good at using these to make books about Anglo-Saxon Kings during the Viking era.

I hope you all have a lovely bank holiday weekend and we manage to get some dry weather and sunshine!
