The end of a busy week

Date: 27th Jan 2018 @ 10:38am

Morning all,

I hope you're enjoying a relaxing start to the weekend after a busy week in and out of school.

Last week, the children worked extremely hard across all subjects. In maths, we tackled some tricky problems involving multiplication and division that required some deeper level thinking from all. In English, we wrote with suspense to show our reader the peril the main character may be in. Through this, the children were exposed to some superb language. Why don't you ask to them/ tell your parents about our words of the week: vexatious and incandescent?

Stretching our scientific minds, we explored the time it takes for different food to turn from solid to liquid in a classroom. This involved the destruction of butter, chocolate, ice and ice-cream (one guess which two of these the children weren't happy about not getting to eat).

Yesterday, in RE, we explored the painting by Rembrandt depicting the events told in the parable of the prodigal son. We linked this to forgiveness and delved deeper into the reasons Jesus may have told this story and the meaning behind it. Don't forget to bring me your facts on Rembrandt for 5 team points.

After what was a busy week, I hope you all find time to relax this weekend and recharge ahead of Monday when I look forward to seeing you all.
