Reception ~ W/B 6th June

Date: 10th Jun 2016 @ 12:36pm

A busy first week back…

I hope you all had a lovely half term.  I can’t believe the children are beginning their last few weeks in Reception….where has the year gone???

The children have loved playing in our new role play area – a new station.  Why not try and watch shows such as Newsround or Good Morning Britain so the children see examples of how to perform?

This week we have been focusing on London.  In Maths we have recapped on 2D and 3D shapes and we have discussed their properties.  We even managed to use words such as edges, faces and vertices!  We made some super models of London landmarks using clay.

In Literacy we have been making changes to a story to give it a more royal theme.  We have called our new story ‘The Crown that Spoke’ and we have had lots of fun practising it.  We have made puppets and worked in groups to act out the story.  We can’t wait to tell you it during our class assembly (Friday 17th May 3pm).

The children have helped to write the class assembly and we hope you are all able to make it.  For the assembly can pupils please bring in a set of summer clothes (fitting with our holiday topic!) to change into before the performance.

Thank you and have a lovely weekend.
