The Evil Pea Visits Brereton!

On Tuesday we were horrified to discover the Evil Pea had invaded our classroom! Considering he’s so small he managed to create an awful lot of mayhem. He had overturned furniture and terrorised our poor vegetables. In order to stop him we built traps and places them around the classroom. Unfortunately, he returned the following day so we decided to write instructions so other people could make traps. Luckily, this worked and we managed to capture him! We then followed another set of instructions and turned him into pea soup. Delicious! Why not try looking at instructions you have at home?

In Maths we have been learning about doubling numbers. The children used Numicon to help them but they were soon able to recall some mentally! If you wish to practise at home please use the links below.

This week we have also been learning about healthy eating and the children designed a meal for a superhero. We talked about the different food groups and what a superhero would need.

In PE this week we have been investigating balances. We used different parts of our body and we created balances at different levels.

In Phonics this week Miss Goff’s group have been learning about the ways to make the sound ‘e’. We have learnt ‘ee’ (What can you see?) and ‘ea’ (A cup of tea). Miss Sherliker’s group have been looking at the sound ‘th’. Please try to practise reading and writing words containing these sounds.
