Our Final Few Weeks!

In Literacy this week we have been looking at the story 'Mine!'  The children have written sentences containing exclamation marks and question marks. They then wrote explanations, describing why it is important to share. We were very impressed to see capital letters and full stops being used.

In Maths we have been practising solving addition sums using a number line. This is a method the children will use a lot in Year 1 so it is important they are confident with it.

We had a wonderful day on Wednesday, celebrating our School Games Day. The children tried dance, volleyball, rounders and golf. Please see our gallery for photos and videos. After all that exercise we made some nutritious fruit kebabs. They were delicious and we discovered the fruit have come from all over the world!

I cannot believe we have only two and a half weeks left!  The children are very excited about moving to Year 1 and Mr McAulay is equally as excited! He will be spending time with the class on Monday, whilst Miss Sherliker and I are on home visits.  Over the next few weeks the children will spend time preparing for their move and getting a feel for life in Year 1. As sad as we will be to see them move on, they are all more than ready and we are sure they will thrive!

Have a wonderful weekend!
