Mad Science Assembly

Date: 27th Nov 2017 @ 11:05am

This morning we had a very exciting start to the day with Harry from Mad Science wowing us with some science experiments. First we learnt about Robert Boyle and how he used red cabbage to test whether something is acid or alkaline.

Next we learnt about Thomas Edison and how he invented the lightbulb. We found out that our bodies can conduct electricity. By touching a plasma ball in one hand and a lightbulb in the other,  we were able to light the bulb.

Finally we learnt about the Archimedes screw which enabled the Ancient Greeks to get water from the bottom of the hill to the top of the hill. Although he would have used horses or donkeys to power his, Neve and Paige, and George and Josh, had a very good go at turning the tube to power the water upwards.

Letters will be going home tonight about a Mad Science after school club starting on Monday 12th December. All the details are on the letter.
