Liverpool

Date: 18th Nov 2016 @ 4:52pm

The class had a fantastic time in Liverpool on Wednesday. The Beatles Story was very popular. Each child was equipped with an audio visual guide and they thoroughly enjoyed discovering how the Fab Four began. By the end they were beginning to get an idea of just how huge The Beatles were at the time and how their popularity impacted on British culture and around the world. The children learnt what a record is and how a record player works - how old did I feel?! - followed by dressing up in 60s gear and learning to dance The Twist. Following lunch and a walk to Pier Head, we all enjoyed the Fab 4D cinema experience and the day was rounded off with a series of exhibits about other music groups that had an influence on the culture of Britain. Most of the children attempted a quiz about The Beatles on the coach on the way home, with Grace emerging as the overall winner and recipient of the Yellow Submarine biro prize!
