Hello everyone,

The summer term has definetly begun in earnest! Everyone in the class has settled back in well and definitely enjoyed the launch of our Amazon rainforest topic. I have to praise all those that put so much effort and thought into the Easter homework set, it was a real pleasure to read the fascinating facts and posters, and the rainforest displays which a number of the children made have certainly added a tropical feel to our classroom! I hope that if you come along to our Maths evening on Tuesday you will be able to see what I mean.

We also lauched our next Talk 4 Writing module by writing a tale of losing something precious. The book which we are following on this theme is 'Varmints' by Helen Ward - an animated adaptation is available on YouTube. The book explores the loss of an environment that was once peaceful, changed forever by Varmints who erect buildings that cast a shadow over everything.

As I mentioned, our after-school sessions on Maths are on Tuesday, so if you want to find out more about how we teach the four operations of addition, subtraction, multiplication and division to the children please do come along.

Enjoy your weekend!
